Lower & Upper School Choir

The Upper and Lower School Choirs at Donelson Elementary School provide the opportunity for a select number of 1^st through 5^th  grade students to participate in a performance ensemble. Our mission is for the personal growth of children through meaningful experiences in music education and vocal performances within our school, local community and beyond.

Cost: $20 which helps defray the cost of music and choir tshirts.

Perennial Math Club

Our mission is to inspire math excellence through teamwork, problem solving, and competition.

3D Printing Club

Students will become familiar with the parts of the printer, how to load and unload material, and create a project using Tinkercad Design Software.

Bulldog Buddies

The mission statement of Bulldog Buddies is to build one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering social interactions while improving the quality of life and promoting inclusion within the school setting.

Cost: $20, which helps defray the cost of t-shirts and materials.

Bulldog Ambassadors

The ambassador program provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate leadership and apply their training to real world experiences that have a direct effect on both DES and the community. Students make a commitment to lead by example, demonstrate respect and responsibility, and engage in service by using effective communication, human relations and leadership skills.   

School Ambassadors' duties are as follows: welcoming new students, giving tours, service learning, and taking on leadership roles during various school-wide events. 

Student Ambassadors are based on teacher recommendations, and must meet the following requirements:  passing grades, above average attendance, above average conduct, desire to help others, and parental consent.

Jr. Beta Club

Jr. Beta Club is an honor organization that recognizes outstanding academic achievement, promotes strong moral character and social responsibility, encourages service to others, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for you to develop strong interpersonal skills.

4H Club 

Students will develop skills in leadership, public speaking, and service.

ACS Aviators Drone Soccer Club 

Students will explore how drones work, fly them safely, and practice teamwork through exciting Drone Soccer matches. Along the way, they’ll strengthen STEM skills, practice communication and problem-solving, and discover real-world careers that use drones.

Mancala Club

Students will learn and play the classic strategy game Mancala. They will build critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship skills in a fun and engaging way.

Run Club

Students will learn the basics of running. They will mark their personal mileage, improve their fitness and have FUN!

Dance Club

Students will learn basic dance moves and learn a short dance routine. This routine will be performed at the Arlington Christmas Parade. (Must be able to attend parade.)

The Taylor Swift Club will provide a safe, fun, and creative space for girls to connect over shared interests, build friendships, and explore music, storytelling, and self-expression.

Knitting Club 

Have you ever been curious about how to knit but never tried? Then this club is just for you. Just in time for the winter season. During Quarter 2 we will learn the basic knitting stitch and begin making our own scarf.

The Kindness Club will take part in spreading kindness throughout the school and community through fun projects and activities.

Students will learn to create short stop motion animation using Stick Bots and Stop Motion Studio. Student will understand the basic concept and process of creating animation frame by frame.
