In alignment with the DES mission statement, the School Counseling Program is committed to supporting all students in their academic, career, and social/emotional development so that they may become life-long learners, effective decision-makers, and productive citizens with a strong foundation.
Vision Statement
The DES School Counseling Program will collaborate with all stakeholders (staff, parents, students, and community) to ensure students are given the tools to achieve their highest potential. Our counselors are committed to the on-going development and delivery of a comprehensive school counseling program.
Ashleigh Pagenkopf

Ms. Pagenkopf is delighted to be a part of the Donelson Elementary School counseling team. With a passion for working with elementary students, she brings a wealth of experience in education, having previously served as a substitute teacher in Bartlett and a Special Education Paraprofessional in Germantown. As the school counselor, Ms. Pagenkopf is committed to supporting students’ academic, social-emotional, and career development. She believes that each new school year offers unique opportunities for growth and success, and she is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
Windy Curtis-Jones
Mrs. Curtis-Jones, a dedicated member of the Arlington community, is thrilled to serve as the school counselor. Having grown up in the area, she is passionate about supporting and guiding local students. With over two decades of experience in education, including a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees, Mrs. Curtis-Jones brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Her goal is to help students reach their full potential by fostering their academic, emotional, and social development. She believes in creating a supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.
